Why is AROA a great place to start your career?

Here at Aroa Biosurgery we’re unlocking regenerative healing for everybody. Maori for ‘understanding’, AROA is at the forefront of understanding how biology, structural form and human factors can unlock the body’s intrinsic power to heal. This means we’re making and creating innovative regenerative healing products that are improving the lives of millions of people around the world.  We specialise in developing, manufacturing and exporting new and exciting soft tissue regeneration products utilising our successful Endoform extracellular matrix (ECM) biomaterial.

We have been on quite a journey here at Aroa over the past 12 years and we continue to go from strength to strength. We have really ambitious goals and we know that it’s our people & the culture of the business that sets us apart from the rest.  As a medium sized ASX listed business we operate in that lovely space where every person makes an impact on the future of the business.  We’re a roll your sleeves up business that loves operating with agility, pace and that entrepreneurial spirit that kiwis are known for.

Graduate (Associate) Engineering Opportunities

With positions available in the engineering fields of Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Biomedical and Computer Science, our graduates will be working together in our global head office in Auckland and have the opportunity to apply their technical knowledge and skills everyday on projects in the medical device industry.

With one of our central projects being a new pillar to the business, you’ll be working on everything from process design, to electronics and firmware, and see projects come through to fruition with production being done on site in Auckland. You'll be immersed in an environment where your contributions are valued. You'll grow your skillset, working alongside exceptional technical professionals who enjoy mentoring and developing your career.

As a member of this ambitious team, you’re someone that loves to get stuck in and has the perseverance, resilience and grit to see the project through.  You are motivated to see the work come to life in all its glory and know how you can make a positive impact.

In return the successful candidates will be working with a diverse and inclusive team that works hard, but celebrates and recognises its people.  You’ll also be working for a mission led company who is out there literally healing millions of people around the world.  We're sure that’s worth being a part of!

Not convinced yet? Here's what some of our recent grads have to say about their graduate experience at AROA!

"I like the stage that AROA is currently in. It’s not a large company and a few products haven’t even reached the market yet, so there is a lot of groundwork to be done that has not been done before. This enables work here to be fast-paced and more exciting.

I like the culture at AROA. I don’t feel confined within a niche team, or like I am less useful than others because I have less experience. I felt like my contributions were valued equally to peers that were more senior to me – even though I was a graduate.

With a mechanical engineering background, I enjoy work that is a combination of hands-on and design. It allows me to feel more engaged with my tasks and AROA allows me to do this.

Everyone was extremely welcoming! Coming in as a grad provides a bit of a step up in responsibility and tasks from an intern which allows you to really start to show your skills and ability. The support provided is great and enough not to feel like your hand is being held for everything, but you know if you do assistance its there"

Applications for grad positions close at the end of August. Interviews for our graduate roles will take place in September either in person or on zoom.  Any questions can be sent to the People & Culture team on hr@aroabio.com
